Welcome to Screen Education Edinburgh

by screeneducationedinburgh

Happy New Year from all the team at Screen Education Edinburgh.

Having all returned safely after the Festive celebrations, we’re now busily organising a host of major projects and initiatives for 2012.

Creative Scotland’s Creative Identities programme returns this month, which will see us intensively working in North Edinburgh, Leith and South East Edinburgh over the year to nurture young people to devise and produce 9 short dramas. The programme starts in North Edinburgh over the next few weeks, partnering Broughton High School, Craigroyston Community High School, Community Organisation for Race Equality, Granton Youth Centre, Muirhouse Youth Development Group and Pilton Youth and Children’s Centre.

Another project will see us work in partnership with BBC Scotland. From February to April, two intensive documentary film making project’s will take place in North Edinburgh Primary and Secondary schools with 24 pupils participating.

Over the next few weeks, the team will also be preparing the re launch of shooting and editing facility hire to the public, in addition to training courses for new learners and film makers coming on board.

We look forward to work with you all in 2012.
